ELDERSHIP
Jesus Christ, the head of the church, has ordained that individual churches should be governed by himself through elders, whom he appoints through the Holy Spirit. These elders are endowed with the gifts and graces needed to fulfill their duties, which include ruling over the affairs of the church and overseeing the spiritual needs of the congregation. Christ through the Holy Spirit has ordained that elders have a leadership role in the church and are responsible for guiding and supporting the members of the church community.
